Training Students For Christ

Our Story

Morgantown Christian Academy operates as a non-profit ministry of Faith Baptist Church. Morgantown Christian Academy exists to partner along with parents by providing a Christ-centered education through academic excellence and servant leadership to equip our students in their service for Christ. The school opened its doors in 1978 at the Richard Avenue location with two students enrolled in kindergarten. In the years to follow, elementary grades were gradually added to accommodate the increasing student enrollment. Faith Baptist Church and Morgantown Christian Academy moved to its current location in 1995. In the fall of 2006, a high school building was added to the church campus. A temporary building was added in 2016 to accommodate the school’s growth, and just recently, another temporary building was added to house the middle school. We have plans to build a gym and new classroom facility in the near future.

What do we offer

Kindergarten

Through Abeka’s phonetic reading program, Kindergarten students learn to recognize the letters and sounds of the alphabet and begin reading by December. They also develop writing and arithmetic skills, learning to count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 100 and other arithmetic processes. The culmination of the Kindergarten year is a formal graduation ceremony in May, complete with cap, tassel, and gown.

Secondary (6-12)

Our Middle School and High School programs consist of teacher-directed classrooms focusing on teaching our core subjects from a Biblical perspective. We strive to instill in our students a Biblical worldview that they can take with them when they graduate. We offer other elective classes such as band, fine arts, drama, keyboarding, speech, yearbook, creative writing, personal finance, and art appreciation.

Elementary (1-5)

We believe in providing a safe, nurturing environment through which we can inspire students to strive for academic excellence, emotional and physical well-being, and spiritual maturity. The core subjects in our elementary school include Bible, mathematics, reading, language arts, spelling, composition, science, social studies, and penmanship.

Chapel and Service

MCA believes a strong relationship with God is a vital part of instruction, and we reinforce this relationship by providing students with an opportunity to be a part of a weekly chapel service. Students also participate in our yearly SERVE-A-THON outreach to the surrounding Morgantown community.

“…We love MCA because we get an excellent education in addition to a Bible teaching beyond compare. They’ve reinforced what we teach at home and what is learned at our local assembly.…”
