About Us

Through Abeka’s phonetic reading program, Kindergarten students learn to recognize the letters and sounds of the alphabet and begin reading by December. They also develop writing and arithmetic skills, learning to count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 100 and other arithmetic processes. The culmination of the Kindergarten year is a formal graduation ceremony in May, complete with cap, tassel, and gown.
We believe in providing a safe, nurturing environment through which we can inspire students to strive for academic excellence, emotional and physical well-being, and spiritual maturity.

The core subjects in our elementary school include Bible, mathematics, reading, language arts, spelling, composition, science, social studies, and penmanship.

MCA believes a strong relationship with God is a vital part of instruction, and we reinforce this relationship by providing students with an opportunity to be a part of a weekly chapel service. Students also participate in our yearly SERVE-A-THON outreach to the surrounding Morgantown community.

Our Middle School and High School programs consist of teacher-directed classrooms focusing on teaching our core subjects from a Biblical perspective.  We strive to instill in our students a Biblical worldview that they can take with them when they graduate.  In addition to the core subjects, our students have the opportunity to participate in fine arts through our band and choir programs.  We also offer other elective classes such as drama, keyboarding, speech, yearbook, creative writing, personal finance, and art appreciation.  Our curriculum focuses on preparing the students for the future by giving them 21st century skills.  We use our curriculum to lay a foundation for lifelong learning.

Quick Info

Class Sizes

Our average Student-Teacher ratio is currently 14:1. The smaller class sizes allow the teachers of MCA to spend more time with each student and provide more one-on-one attention to students who need extra help. The reduced class sizes also allow for increased student engagement which is beneficial in the learning process.

Standardized Testing
Morgantown Christian Academy uses IOWA Assessments for its standardized achievement testing for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. These tests are designed to measure academic growth and assess critical thinking skills. Test scores show MCA students perform above grade level on many subject testing.
Graduate Success
The academic success of our graduates is evident in the wide variety of college acceptances and scholarship offerings received by our graduating seniors every year. ACT/SAT test scores are consistently above the state and national averages.
